This project involved major structural alteration alongside a careful restoration programme — coordinated with the local parish council and managed through the listed building consent process from start to finish.
The approach
Managed through listed building consent.
Listed building work requires consent that sits alongside — and sometimes in addition to — standard planning permission. We managed the consent process, the structural design for the alteration works, and the restoration programme as a single coordinated scope.
The parish council were involved throughout, which added a layer of coordination we managed on the client's behalf. The alterations and restoration were carried out to the standards required for Grade II listed buildings.
The result
Structurally altered and faithfully restored.
The building was altered and restored — both to the satisfaction of the parish council and to the standards required for Grade II listed buildings. The project ran to the agreed programme, which matters particularly with listed building work where delays can have regulatory implications.
